Claude Grosperrin, 1936 – 1977, was born in Charenton, France. From the age of twenty he studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and became a French Postwar & Contemporary painter and lithographer. An art critic described his work as “a rare unity of style thanks undoubtedly to the quality of light which bathes all his compositions, and which sometimes remind one of Brasilier. A great strength, a powerful rhythm animate his stud farm, his racetracks, his seashores, treated in a deliberately limited range of tones.” This piece is embossed with the Collectors Guild Seal which verifies that each lithograph stone was defaced after the limited edition was completed.
